Clamnut Comix is a one man band with Bob Byrne on sax. I’m a self taught artist from Dublin best known for MBLEH!, The Shiznit, Twisted Tales and Mister Amperduke.

I specialize in silent/wordless comics. I feel that silent comics are the purest form and that they make the most of the medium. The reader is more involved and can read the stories at their own pace instead of being dragged around from speech bubble to speech bubble. It’s a graphic medium so why so many words? I don’t know, people always bang on about how wonderful silent movies were yet nobody makes them anymore. I don’t get that.

I spent nearly five years making a 160 page silent graphic novel, Mister Amperduke and now it’s finally available to order. Why did it take so long? Ever hear of those dudes that paint the Golden Gate bridge? They paint it continually, it's so big that by the time they get to the end of one side, the other side is dirty again. I worked on cleaning up the start of Mister Amperduke and it made the middle look crap, I worked on the middle and it messed up the ending so I added more pages, next thing I know I'm a snake eating it's own tail and some dickhead is getting a tattoo of me being a snake eating my own tail on their arm because Indian mysticism is back in for a few weeks.
