Q: Why "MBLEH!"?
A: Absolutely no idea. Around four years ago I drew a picture of a priest sitting in a pool of piss for a friend and it's my rule to always include a speech bubble. Couldn't think of anything funny so I put in 'BLEH!', he found that word funnier than the pic so it became my trademark for a while. Adding the 'M' was the next logical step.
Q: How is MBLEH! Pronounced?
A: I've heard some crazy renditions over the years: Muh-bleh, Em-Bleh, Mumblee,
Um-bah-ley to name a few. I don't pronounce the 'M' or if I do it's like "Mbop" from
those cool cats of yesteryear Hanson. Call it what you want but I say it like this:
Q: Was is it a bad idea to name something that most people can't pronounce?
A: Maybe yes. Don't know if its hampered word of mouth publicity or boosted it. Fuck it.
Q: When will issue #4 be out if ever?
A: Leave me alone.
Q: Ah c'mon...
A: That's not a Question. I'm sure at some stage a fourth and final fifth will appear
but not at least for another year. Tis a costly business publishing comics and although
#3 was by far the best, it didn't do too good overseas through Diamond so #4 would have bombed sales wise. If you really want to see more MBLEH! how about buying
all those boxes of unsold issues 1,2 and 3 off me?
Q: Why is some of the material in MBLEH! #1 a bit crap?
A: Youthful, lazy inexperience. I was 20 when I drew some of the first issue. That's
my excuse.
Q: Is that really you inside the cover of #1?
A: Nope. I'm crankier looking.
Q: Why the irregular size on #1?
A: Aw... poor you. Not fitting into your silly little comic bags? Circulate don't speculate. There's a full explanation in issue 2.
Q: Is MBLEH still for sale? Where can I get it?
A: Yeah, its still stinking up the shelves of comic shops in Dublin. If you really want it, buy it here through me because I get mo'cash to spend on Hello Kitty merchandise.
