Neh, only 6 panels left of Amperduke then all the prepress and the cover. Have 3 new Twisted Tales coming up soon too. Not in the typing mood so here’s a ridiculous picture I made 4 years ago when I had just started Amperduke. It’s mad, it was originally just an excuse to draw crap like this, lego men fighting insects but over the past year or so I see that there is a point to the whole thing with a few underlying messages. Plus it’s full of Lego gore.

Oh yeah, that’s their names. Nechradon and Panzer Meister.

Still too tied up with shit to sit down and pour scorn in rant form. so here’s something I dug up recently for a submission. The 6 page Amperdule story (here) was originally meant to feature this character but he looked too cartoony beside the Lego men, so needing more contrast I replaced Snodule with the ‘Duke. Plus everyone was saying the style was too Jim Woodring which isnt a bad thing really. My first silent comic……

And here’s the best bit, a rendition of Snodule by my favourite artist and inspiration Guy Davis! Fuckin’ ell!! Doesn’t get any better than that. Still havent posted my thesis on Guy Davis and how much discovering him has changed my approach to drawing and storytelling, plus he’s a gentleman and and and he can shoot lasers from his neck and fly and timetravel and he poo’s marzipan. I’m going to fly him over to be my best man if I get married. To him.

Hey Darkies! That’s white mans bandwith you’re stealing. Been getting three new Twisted Tales together for 2000AD and to speed things up and to make up for the fact that I can’t draw I’ve enlisted Declan ‘Rimjob’ Shalvey to polish up my scribbles for me to scribble over them again.

Dec is my only friend in the biz really and we’d deffo be pals even if we both didn’t draw comics. Maybe not. I don’t know. He’s a bit light in the loafers. Nah, I love him and he knows it. Check out his blog for which I can take all the credit, some really amazing shit, especially the life drawing. Here’s the first collaborative test. The first row is mine which was accompanied with a text description, the second is Dec’s breakdowns and the last one is me again. Too much tone in it but I was just mesing.

Here’s a funny one, when I went over to him for the Tequila Launch, my story about the kid cheating in the exam was just out in 2000AD and I had named the school ‘Shalvey High’ to give him a shoutout but they moved the Twisted Tales logo over it! I’ll post that page next week. Still have unposted pics from the ill fated Galway signing too which I must share.

Did a half hour doodle for my main man Fustar’s new venture ‘Greetings Earthlings’. It was a trade for a pic by his 5 year old niece which I’ll put up tomorrow. I love kids drawings, fascinated by them. Adults seem to lose the wonderful sillyness and inhibitions about scribbling a picture. I’m constantly pestering people who don’t usually draw to do me a pic and they always think it’s me trying to make fun of them but it’s the opposite. The lamer and better. Artists get too uptight about drawing.

You should draw, sing or rub one out everyday because it’s good for your soul. Oh yeah, the picture, I still havent got a free screen recorder so I cant record my antics anymore. Anyone know of one that STAYS free? I’m buying a new pc this week so mail the shit out of me with recommendations.

Just back from me hols to hear the good news that MashFace are wrapping up the new album after getting signed. MashFace are my favourite band and time permitting I hope to cameo on the next album.
