Hewwo chumsters. Being a dope I forgot to plug this weeks 2000AD which features my 6 page Twisted Tales called The Trapper. It’s the best one yet I think. 96 panels of goodness.

Love that artwork. That DRING DRING sound effect looks great. I know, I love my own artwork sometimes, indulge me. It’ll be out of the shops by Tuesday so if you miss it you’ll never get to see it.

Camtasia Comic Video

Wednesday, December 12th, 2007

This is a few minutes from the Thinkhouse card. I got the 30 day trial of Camtasia and I’m really impressed with it. Check out the way it zooms in and out so smoothly.

Was tempted to put The Chipmunks Christmas album on for the soundtrack but I’ve come to realise that not everyone likes the Chipmunks. I love them. LOVE them. I listen to the Christmas album all year long.

Thinkhouse Xmas card

Tuesday, December 11th, 2007

Twiddley hey hey! Continuing my bitching about not having anytyime to draw comics, here is a Christmas card comic I made for the wonderful folk at Thinkhouse .

I recorded most of the making of it with Camtasia and will put up the video next week. I love watching myself draw. It’s like wanking on front of the mirror.

Story is as lame as it gets and I obviously had to squeeze in all the staff (without offending anyone). Happy with the way it turned out.

Brendan Behan Exhibition

Friday, December 7th, 2007

Wham!! Had to temporarily remove the Thinkhouse post till they print the cards. Yep so Brendan Behan double whammy, got a mention on the Forbidden Planet Blog about being like Behan and my good friend Sean Lennon just opened a Behan exhibiton.

Sean is my brother in law’s wife’s brother in law so we’re nearly family. I was trying to relate to Yvonne how exciting it is to meet another artist, how there is an affinity, sort of like a survivor’s group or something. We just know each other’s pain. Trying to handle a 9-5, a family and your dream is a killer.

This one is my favourite. He looks like a big sickly pint of Guinness.

I think it’s running for another 6 weeks or so, it’s in the Dublin Writers Museum and apparently if you tell them at the door that you’re just there for the exhibition you dont have to pay in to the museum. Great work, combining portraiture, cartooning and story telling all at once. Big pieces too, around 5′x5′ each. Drop Sean a line if you want more info SEANJLENNON at GMAIL dot COM.

So is being compared to big fat alco good? Don’t know. I’m not that big of a drinker anymore. Although I have to go get blood tests on Monday because my big fat liver is weird. I’ll be gutted if its from drinking because I’d expect to get in at least around 10 years of continuos boozing before it clapped up. Has to be cholesterol, I ate breakfast rolls everyday for 4 years and if there were pints the night before sometimes I’d have two breakfast rolls. So it’s looking like 2008 is the year of steamed broccoli.

Wank.

Twisted Tales this week

Tuesday, December 4th, 2007

Hey hey hey buddies and fwendy bears, one of my new Twisted Tales is in this weeks 2000AD. Got my name on the cover which is big deal for me. Here it is

A bloke in work gave me 1000+ issues of 2000AD in cbr format and I’m working my way through them. Blown away by the early issues, such tight writing and fucking deadly art. Absolutely crammed with goodness and excitement. The modern trend for decompression of stories so that they can get the all important trade paperback out really shows compared to these gems.

Started to fall back in love with Dredd and am drawing him a fair bit now in my doodle time. What a great character.
