Hey pals! Back from my holiday to Hurricane riddled Cuba. Man that place is nutty. I’ll post the pics and scans of the terrible caricatures I got soon. We narrowly missed Hurricane Ike’s rampage and had a fun old time.
So here’s some new things. The GOAL anthology is now out and ready to buy, haven’t seen it yet but it has to be great. Interview with Cliodhna here
Dec’s new Freak Show is out AND Frankenstein is due for release in 2 weeks, available for pre-orders from Tesco’s!. There’s also a craptacular interview with Shalvey on the Forbidden Planet Blog.
Word to the wise Dec, it’s a lame move to link to an interview you just done because after somebody reads the article and is intrigued enough to click through to your site, they don’t need to see the current post about the interview you just done. It makes you look like the little gaylord that you really are.
Speaking of gaylords and interviews, there’ll be a thing in this week or next weeks Irish Times Weekend magazine about me so look out for it.
Loads of Cuba pics, art and related messing soon.

My Grandad has been ill the past few months and I visit him in the hospital as much as I can. He’s sort of the inspiration for Mr Amperduke, a remarkable man full of all kinds of crazy knowledge and stories. I was up with him a few weeks ago and one of the other old men on the ward socked me in the head. It was hilarious! It took him around 5 minutes of shuffling as stealthly as he could to get around behind me, he stands there for around a minute and then POOF, the frailest punch in the history of gaylords.
His hands are like rotten plums and it felt like a flick. Ah the poor old clown, he must feel anger that he doesn’t get as many visits. Apparently this man has Alzheimer’s and wanders around with his lad hanging out. My Grandad is mentally as sharp as a tack so he’s just as disturbed as me by all this.
The whole hospitalisation episode has really made me think about things, I whinge with my back pain and erectile dysfunctions but compared to an 85 year old I’m Mr Universe. We all are. To be young and relatively healthy is a wonderful thing so get busy living. And when you’re old you get to punch young people in the fokkin head innit?
Bloaw!! Just finishing up another Twisted Tales this week. It’s a good old fashioned monster vs astronauts on a space station thing. There’s a couple of implosion scenes. I presume if you’re in a space suit and it gets cracked or breached all your guts get sucked out through the hole? Is that even true? It was fun to draw though. I might even give it a second go, I wanted to show the pelvis bone coming out through the fingers.
With the Cintiq acting as a second screen now I watch things on my big monitor when I draw, not all the time but a few hours a week. I don’t have a television so it’s all downloads, been watching OZ back to back and it’s deadly. Some sloppy writing in the first few but it really gets strong fast. But I have to say that the theme tune and opening credits are AWFUL, you’d turn it off if wasn’t for the quick glimpse of a bum rape. Same with The Wire and The Sopranos too, the opening music is fantastically shit
