Camtasia Comic Video
This is a few minutes from the Thinkhouse card. I got the 30 day trial of Camtasia and I’m really impressed with it. Check out the way it zooms in and out so smoothly.
Was tempted to put The Chipmunks Christmas album on for the soundtrack but I’ve come to realise that not everyone likes the Chipmunks. I love them. LOVE them. I listen to the Christmas album all year long.

Seriously though, even though i can see you’ve roughs on an underneath layer, You’ve great confidence in the lines you’re making, none of that scratchy, drawing-a-line-a-hundred times-before-you-figure-out-what-the-hell-you’re-trying-to-do-crap.
Bang! There’s your line. Great stuff. Love it.

Yeah we’ve talked about it before in bed. You slick comic artists have the infuriatingly talented habit of penciling nearly as finished as inks. Great practice to get into for getting penciller gigs. I prefer sloppy and fast pencils. I had to provide the customer roughs so I could ink over them but sometimes I can just go straight to inks.

Looks deadly - is that coral painter your using? I’ve been inking in flash but was thinking of tracking down a copy of painter and seeing what it was like.

That’s not ALL we talk about in bed.
I wish i could go straight to inks, the pencilling is the bit i don’t like. I try leave my pencils as basic as i can, leaving a lot of the drawing in the inks, which is the fun part.
Feckin’ pencils.

Yep that’s Painter. See the way you can rotate the page like real paper? Deadly. I love it. Loads of people are saying it to me about inking in Flash or Illustrator. Might give it a go tonight.

I like jason lee but I don’t think he is right for Dave, shall wait and see about the chipmunks themselves, have only seen a few bits of animation so far and they’ve been a little blocky and stiff

obviously it`s sped up a bit here,but how long does it take to ink with all that digital shite?

Yep it sped up twice as fast. It would take me around 3 hours traditionally doing it with ink and around 1hr digitally. So that gives me 2 extra hours to oh I don’t know, fucking feed myself and wash my clothes because it’s a school night.
