Penciling digital comics
Just as the thought of creating a comic on screen was baffling to me 3 years ago, people ask me all the time how do I start a comic without using paper.
A lot of people are now using Wacoms to create their comics digitally so the days of penciling and erasing are long gone. I hated penciling. And I really I don’t understand how most artists pencil so precisely and tight only to ink over it and erase the pencil lines. With my tablet I don’t really pencil anymore, just go straight to inks.
The picture below is a new story that I’m working on. This is how I write them. Amperduke was written the same way. I’ll post some layouts vs the finished Amperduke soon.
So here are some pics to show the process of a Twisted Tale. The top layer is what I draw while roughing out the whole story, It’s only for me so the simplest of lines will do. The next layer is what I submit to the editor. These are the pencils I suppose. And the last one is final artwork.
Okay I admit it, nobody asks me about how I make comics. But there we go anyway. Spare 20 seconds from your day and watch this video, it’ll do you good. It is of course disgusting and not for pansies. It has a surprise ending!

fuckin `ell!That dog`s a gent!
But I really use the wacom for putting finishing touches on stuff, pinups and rough layouts rather than whole pages but then again,I`m a tad shit…
And I don`t know wheter the days of pencilling are over yet.Like I say all the time, nothing beats the feeling of a finished hand-drawn piece.Faggot.
