AMPERDUKE IS DONE
Amperduke is finished.
Technically. All done and drawn but I still have to lay it out, do the cover, the chapter breaks, travel back in time, defeat Lord Quarzak, get the ruby crystal, shoot the red barell, the list is endless.
Working on three new Twisted Tales too and they are doooooozies. I’m away (and not working on comix) to Sun Destination X from the 10th to the 24th where I will Salsa dance into the night like the big steamer that I am………
Then on September 29th there’s Subcon or SNUBcon as it should be known, look at the flyer, just squeezed in as an after thought. Jew. Should be a laugh though.
Then me, Deckypoo’s, Will and Mooney are heading over to the big con in Birmingham. Check out the lads sites’. Moondog’s one is new so wipe your feet. I can claim complete and total fabricated responsibilty for all three of their careers, thought them how to draw, how to letter, how to make a hash pipe from a carrot….everything. I wish! Three talented dudes. Well, maybe two.
Then the 20th of October, there’s 24 Hour Comic Day which I’m looking forward to. Poster here
And finally, here’s something from my mate in Slovenia, Domen. He’s looking for artists to draw their rendition of Spiderman and he’ll draw you something in return. Here’s the Comics Space page, yes, there is a Comics Myspace, which I’m not involved with because its EVEN GAYER THAN MYSPACE.

congrats man, can’t wait to see it in all its printed glory, enjoy the various comic events it’s like a clamnuts world tour or something! you should do a alternative bob bryne varient of that sub poster with various clamtastic characters standing on the other characters’ heads.

Neh, Rob who writes Freak Show is organising the Subcon so he’s bigging up his books/artists so that’s understandable. Am seriously thinking about organising some kind of weekend event loosely based on comics/storytelling/drinking though.

have a comic drinking weekend in decemeber that way we’ve something comic related ever month for the next 4 months. Will amperduke be printed by December? - your going to have to have a major book release/drinking session for that so we can all buy our copies and make you sign them with drunken doodles.
I understand Rob pimping all the freak show crew but I still found it funny that he stuck his own name on there - ok he does write it but its his bloody con, one would assume he is going to be there. John did the same thing with the Dublin con when he said “Adam who does drastic will be there” and in my head I went “cool he’s going to be there but doesn’t he work at the third place?”

Wahey, so there’ll be another chance for you to take my money off me in a roundabout way sometime soon? AWESOME.
Personally, I think BobCon will be the greatest weekend comics event to hit Dublin, and I base this purely on assumptions about the amount of flarn you’ll be bringing with you to the event. Presumably mayhem will also happen, but since it would appear that Irish comics people are all quite fond of their booze this should be no surprise.
And yes, Bob, you look immensely gay in that pic. Presumably yer lady doesn’t mind though…

Top stuff on the Amperduke completion - I look forward to seeing it all together on proper printed paper.

BOBCON! Hope I’m invited! Ye hafta get that together man. And that flyer for Subcon is high-larious! Can’t believe they stuck ye down there man, even if it is a wee bit funny! Just so you guys know, as a former member of the Atomic Diner crowd, we are all well aware(well the artists anyway) of Bob’s standing in the Irish comicbook scene, ie at the top. Really lookin forward to gettin all the boys together for Birmingham too. And cheers for the link to my blog, Bobert, I think you’re already up there in my links but better go check….

Seriously, i know Bob bein snuck in at the end was a last minute mistake, so i wouldn’t begrudge Ron or anyone else fer it.
Bob, mega congrats on finally finishin the ‘duke. To celebrate, you should go back and redraw the whole thing. In the meantime, enjoy yer holiday with the missus.
Oh yeah, me amd Will were thinkin of meetin up on the Friday before SubCon and doin a bit of drinkin and drawing, like that fateful train journey to Galway we took.

BLEH! This is what I come back to???
Neh, don’t know about being no.1, definitely top dog for indie/alternative/good comics but yiz can have that stinking superhero scene. Still amazed that I get so much praise without actually ever drawing anything well. You pack of SUCKERS.

Cant wait for MR Ampurduke! When will it hit the stands? Whats the story with the comic cons man I checked out the Dublin City con flyer and your names not even on it! Are you not going or did they just snub you. I think we need to start a put Bob on the flyer campaign!
