Twisted Tales, Hero Killers and I’m gay

First off a big congrats to Dec and Andy for scooping an Eagle Award for Hero Killers in Bristol over the weekend. Big thanks to you all if you voted through here. Seems like a lifetime ago that he timidly dangled a copy of it at me at the Irish Comic Showcase thing, now we’re bumchums and even going half on adopting a little black kid.

Here’s a page from an upcoming Twisted Tales in full jaysis colour. Still don’t know if they’re running back to back but they’re running and that’s all that matters. I’m moving house tomorrow so prolly no posts for a week or two.

Had a sneaky read of the first twisted Tales in the local Easons today, and it was mad. Brill penwork, great twist. I’d buy it, but I spent most of my money at the comic n’ toy market, and an issue of Neo Mag.
Great to see life’s improving and it isn’t too much of an arse for ya too!

  3. Colm Says:

so you bugged her house then! i bought 2000ad today and i have to say everything else in it felt dated, badly told cliched, and shit - maybe i’m being unfair just jumping in on running stories but there was a supposed big deal about dredds 50th year on the mega-streets and the story was just pathethic. Feel free to call it jaded middle aged bitterness but one things for certain You’re stuff would deffo zonk the bejajus out of current long time readers. Love the little “!” at the end.

Oh goddamnit Bob, you’ve gone gay on us again?! Next thing you’ll be wearing eyeliner and growing some sort of emo fringe, like that knobber Maguire in Spiderman 3. (I reserve the right to hire a hitman if you start doing that “dancing down the street like a twat, yet somehow getting the kind of reaction normally reserved for Lynx ads” thing).

Good to hear you’re on the up and getting the bad shit from your last relationship out of your system. This better not have any detrimental effect on your comics production tho…

  5. Kyle Says:

Oh yeah, that page looks like the mutt’s chuts too, but I’m almost getting bored of typing that every time you post up something new so chances are you’re shit sick of reading it…

  6. Bob Byrne Says:

Tropy where you at the thing in the Royal DUblin? Did I meet you or had the boozing begun by then?

Yep Colm, bugged that house and made a few covert visits with the jip dectector, more on that soon. Yeah I liked that Wagner Dredd story but it could have had way more punch, I’d love to try a 12 pager on anything, loads of room. I think we’re just older and all the 2000ad stuff that used to impress us, we know how it’s done now so the magic is gone.

Yes Kyle I’m gayer than Christmas. I’d call that evil Spidey fringe a Hitler fringe not an emo one. And of course I still want to hear how brilliant my artwork is you silly billy.

  7. Kyle Says:

Nah, for a real hitler fringe you need something like this guy’s

  8. Tropy_29 Says:

Yeah, I was at the Royal, how d’you know?

  9. lorcybops Says:

hey dude, say the second twisted tales toady like the ’shalvey high’ injoke! warring stationary perfect, why didn’t they consult you when making ‘how to cheat in the leaving cert’ it would have been amazing and not year another depressing Irish movie misfire. Good that they seem to publihing them all in order? rather than here and there, any feedback tharg mansions?

  10. MK Says:

    Hey Bob,

I opened up a 2000AD for the first time since the Judge Dredd Movie to read your strip.

    Great work indeed.

I just noticed that this page looks like it has a big stream of jizz running down it.
