Corporate Cocksucker 1
I’m getting my illustration portfolio together and I’m finding some wacky crap from back in the day. Here is a character designed for Smurfits those money hungry corrugated board swines. There was a whole series of this cardboard lad doing things like working in a lab and a kitchen, I’ll post them if you want to see them. I drew this with one pen, scanned it then coloured it in Corel Photopaint. Up until 2 years ago I used Corel for everything which was ridiculous. It really stunted my day job career not knowing how to rock Adobe.

Heh, Adam Murray had a cute comic about selling out to survive as a commercial artist…I’ll link it if I can find it.
I’d definitely be curious to see more of this kind of stuff from you Bob, you’ve got a good eye for effective designs. Plus there’s a hint of the amperduke lego people style to this fella’s feet.
Oh yeah, you’re also a sellout. Or something.

lads your missing the real story here. The tectonic movement from Corel to Adobe. Bob, Paddy Kennedy is on his way up to tallaght in a taxi full of rialto whoopass as we speak. Not a day goes by he doesn’t pour scorn on my satanic adobing ways.
I saw this on youtube and ran downstairs to tell markie how funny it was today. And there he was… sacked.

seen that clip, don’t forget I work in a place where watching youtube clips is part of the official routine. I love being me.
Corel definitely has a few minor advantages over Adobe but in general it’s a piece of shit and I regret not selling out quicker. Markie’s bird ‘posted out some cv’s for him’. He’ll be doing gobblejobs in Moore St by xmas.
