Sketchbook Nonsense
Booya! Hols were good. Finally conquered my long standing and perfectly rational fear of swimming in the sea. Managed to ’switch off’ for the first time in a while. Was really happy with this until I realised the book I was reading, Michael Palin’s Diaries 1969-1979,
just filled the void because all he talks about is how many hours work he got done and how he’s not getting enough done etc. So I was just re-routing all my stress through the book! Wank.
Done some doodling…
These are from a collaborative thing where 9 sketchbooks are posted around 20+ artists who do a spread then mail it on to the next artist. These are ‘Dreams’ and ‘City’

Found in Yvonne’s attic. So cute!
This was gas. We went on a trip to the Turkish occupied part of Cyprus and this old couple kept clucking and tuuting about how it’s
all been changed, how it’s all been ruined with development since they were last here. Thinking that they must have been there in the 70’s or something I asked when had they been. The woman says ” Oh it’s all awful!! AWFUL! Here, let me show you, I have photos”. Reaches into her bag and I’m expecting a bound photo album…..but she whips out a camera phone to show me the pic. They were there four years ago. The only difference was an extra umbrella on the beach. Dopes.

Hey all. Yep, drawing for fun is what it’s all about. Really don’t do enough fun drawing these days. Jesus I might take pics of the other skectbooks so then if you like them. Have tons.
Neh, maybe some of these will be used in comics Luke although I deliberately omitted some new secret characters from this post Muah ha!

tres snazz - love the dweem / nightmare scenario. That’s the first thing I’ve seen yet from the sketchbook gig seeing as I’m waaaaaaaaaaay down on most of the lists - getting itchy to get me hands on them now. Have to practice getting mucky with analogue materials again tho!

Bob,
Tried commenting already, but it seems to have become lost in the ether…
I notice a certain grey alien theme creeping in in some of the above sketches. This may either be a hangover from your stint on Greetings Earthlings, or part and parcel of the magical mystery that is your brain.
Any chance of you doing some more guest-artistry for de blog?
