More Beano submissions

Honestly don’t know what the fuck I was thinking with this. I knew that they don’t accept original characters. Ah yeah, now I remember, it was planned as a submission to a few kids comics. Love that crap artwork! Drew this in 2004.

thats more like it - loads of bob byrne energy coz you werent trying to mimic a style. Loadsa kids comics? Your taking the piss right? Apart from the beano and the dandy theres only nipper blended with buster blended with whizzer and chips with some oink and parsley thrown in.

Neh, think it looks shit. There was TOXIC and the Lucky Bag comic. The combining of comics in the 80’s was terrible. I’ll never forget when they cancelled Buster. I loved that comic and would always send in letters and pics.

i think this would more suit the dandy
not that i`d buy it since they changed to that gay glossy and “hip” style
i preferred the rough paper and non-manga style
    sniff :(

not so much gay as child porn - comic looks great but the eddy’s teddy? I don’t know why but that name just sounds wrong

    i concur

  8. Bob Byrne Says:

Yeah it’s weak. I still think that boys fantasize about having a robotic teddy pal. Everyone ELSE is gay, not me.

story wise its cheese but the layout and that is cool.

When I was working designing crappy souveniers I would try my best to smuggle in my own secret in-jokes. The red helmet is a Banana Splits helmet and it pops up alot in my comics. The QFLARN on the building blocks was a shout out to my main man Quinner and his insatiable flarn appetite. [...]
