Ninja vs Pooba
Drew this when I was 13. Such talent.
I drew a fair few comics in school and once even in detention, how rock and roll is that? Only got detained about 12 times during my school career and usually it involved copying numbers out of a phone book as punishment! Some teachers let you do you your homework and some didn’t care just once you were writing and not talking. My mate Bill used to write these hilarious stream of conscious things where he’d just write shit like the lyrics to Kriss Kross’ Jump. ‘Because I’m the miggedy miggedy miggedy miggedy mack yall, yes I am the miggedy miggedy miggedy miggedy mack’.
I’m beginning to soften when I think of school but then I remember that I hated the kip. Had some classic moments though. The day one of the students punched the head off the Vice Principal being one. The place going on fire was another.

I drew a cartoon on the back of an exam paper once. It was a picture of me hanging from a rafter, holding my failed accounting paper. The teacher gave me “2 points for artistic merit”.

I drew a comic about killer carrots attacking a city for my junior cert irish exam - I feel I may have earned myself a few extra points cus I did some of the dialog in irish but I’ll never know cus they don’t give you those test back.

I’d love to know where that Vice Principal puncher is today, Bob…
I once got into shit for drawing a naked lady in 2ND CLASS!!!… tits like a bobby’s hat, too… I remember Ms Corrigan rubbing at it furiously with an eraser, in a panic….
After that it was just a matchstick guy flyin’ his time machine ’round the margin of all me text books…

As far as I know he got into drug dealing and has been in and out of pwison. He was always a nice bloke though.
Yep Stewbie, Napalm Bob after my then favourite band Napalm Death. I know, gay.
Drawing in school is an important part of an artists growth. I learned alot about it from the backs of copy books and hopw it can be used as a threat against people ‘Shut up or I’ll draw you riding Steo’.

Feck, you had some talent back then. You could do panel layout and everything perfectly…
Did you cop that review of Mbleh! in the Small Press section of the newest Judge Dredd Megazine by the way? Mentioned you getting out of your “bog mansion” and heading to Birmingham for the con n’ all.

You were grand man. You had a bit of an Italian accent though. You also said that you like to watch children from trees?

That wasn’t Bob?
Man, when i go through my old Maths copys, i’d be drawing Spiderman on the sly at the back of them so much that the thing is more sketchbook than a schoolbook.
Should really dig them up next time i’m back.

And you still can’t do your sums OR draw Spiderman right. Fucking ZING-ola!
