Rejected Beano comic

Forgot about this one aswell. Drawn a few years ago on an A3 sheet with INK!!! Then I have an absolute crap Korky the Cat page somewhere that I’ll show the world.

EDDYS TEDDY SCHOOL BAG STRIP TEXT

I like this one. It’s way more conventional than the last one and the story is good.

Your artworks looks pretty sleazy for some reason. Probably my associations with your other stuff.

Your colours are too sleazy/pastelly/ for a childs comic. The first row of panels is good. I don’t think you introduced Mr.Crabtree as menacingly as you could have.

The Army Turk…will kids get that (I suppose they don’t have to get it, it’s original)?. I thought the Beano was in black and white?

    I like the hat he’s wearing ;)

    i like this one.
better than some of the shit that makes it in nowadays.
was it gonna be a whole series?

and just a thought, why not put out your own kids comic?
it would be the perfect move what with all the little bastards hungry for more of your stuff after the kids books and the older fans gettin it for there kids.
    just a thought

Nah Conor, Yep the colours are a tad weak and lacking the WHAZMAK!! factor that the kids want. What am I saying? The Kids don’t want The Beano anymore. And therein lies the problem, it’s hard to get in because so many better artist are (rightly) getting the work. And again, this was done a few years ago, pre-Wacom so I would deffo amp up the colours.

Neh Lukeypants, I have a shitload of ideas for kid’s books but you’re right, trying for an all ages thing would make sense. Gimme time!
