Amperduke in the 2000AD Megazine

Borag Thung Earthlets! Sorry. Yes, the original Mr.Amperduke 6 pager is now in this months Judge Dredd Megazine. I'm vewwwy happy about it, I used to be a 2000AD freak from the age 14 -16, I mean a FREAK, even sending letters sometimes. It had a run around 1992-3 when they couldn't put a foot wrong and I lapped it up. Inevitably the stories didn't do it for me and I became a casual user then dropping down a few progs a year. I wouldn't touch it in the late 90's when they started to use some really bogey digital colouring.

But back to me, yeah I'm great. Already received a few mails to be put on the Amperduke mailing list so I'm eternally grateful. It's part of a small press showcase thing, no pay but who cares? I'm finally an art droid. I really should finish the graphic novel as soon as possible and get it out. Not that I've been slacking, in between starting it I've done a kids book, launched and drew 3 issues of the Shiznit, done one issue of Morbid Milton started the Freakshow annual and a fair amount of strips for other things.

So if you've come here from seeing Mr. A in the Meg, take a mooch around and be sure to read the 40 page Amperduke preview. And theres a few couple of newish pages here

Fucking hell, congrats dude, in your parlance wiggiity wiggigy fuck yeah wam!

I two had a 13-17 or so obsession with 2000 ad and the megazine, one of the only reasons I continued to go to mass in my early teens was because the newsagent on the way kept 2000ad, the Megazine and Marvel Uk's Overkill for me,(obviously this was before discovering beer, snouts, flarn and ladies) I once made dad turn back half way one because he forgot to stop.

There is so much forgotten gems from the late 1980s early 1990s like Rian Hughes Really and Truly, I too just lost interest it's too expensive--I will be picking up your issues though!
will this be the best irish intervention into the 2000ad universe since that judge joyce cover with the synthi-stout? could be?

thrillpower over load

congrats on being a script/art droid!!

Bob Sez: Thank you all lads. Yep, to quote Rude Dog from Rude Dog and the Dweebs, 'I'm stoked'

Nice one Dec with the sticky spacebutton, that mode of text suits your slurred blabbering.

Yeah Robbie, hate to break it to you. No such thing as art droids and you are gay.

Lorcy, nice one. That judge Joyce thing was so insulting yet flattering at the time. Spud guns?, c'mon.

Kyuss/Michael, welcome to my nightmare. Stick around , I'm brilliant.

Hey man, I just stumbled upon your site and since I am starting to get interest in comics by a classmate (she gave me Blankets, Clumsy a Novel, Spiral into horror and more) I really like Amperduke. And it's great to here you are being featured in this nice mag, of which i have no idea what it is though :P

Well done borb, fair play. In the almighty pyramid of English comics, buster, beano, dandy, oink, viz etc 2000ad stands as the daddy of them all. Its great that its the megazine too, the hardcore nerds version of the regular 2000ad. No doubt they'll be more appreciative of the storys universal appeal and your exceptional, uniquely fucked up (and sometimes gay) style.

Amperduke is fuckin deadly though- its no wonder they picked it up, roll on the graphic novel and the feature on Rattlebag.

The header pic is cool by the way
