Rag Week Illustration

This year, all 1 and a bit months of it, has been good to me.
Strangely, I've been asked by 3 colleges to contribute
comics to their 'Rag Mag'. You'd think they could handle
it themselves but hey, fuck it, the comics are already drawn
and it's good advertisement.
I was asked to draw a cover image and I banged this out in
20 mins (you'd never guess) But I reckon it was too
close to the bone for those crazy, hard drinking, cone
robbing slicksters. They dont want it. Oh precious
clamnuts.com, the great recycler of my dodgy and
unwanted artwork.
Having not gone to college I only have a vague idea
of what a Rag Week is but I'm fairly sure it
involves listening to The Thrills and all the men
bumming each other.

Comic Creator Challenge

A young ink stud by the name of Kyle Rogers has been
organising a comics challenge over on Boards.ie. The results
have yet to be posted and I'm really looking forward to
seeing what's on offer. The theme had to be 'Flight'.

It's a quickie, I was humming and hawwing over
inking it because I couldn't and still can't
figure if its a red bull ad rip off. The dirty pencils
looks decent though

Blob Byrne part 2

has taken the time to give me the photoshop treatment.
Seriously, I love this shit! Below are a few headshots
so let me see me in some uncompromising scenes, try
keep images of big dicks out of any gay porn pics you
have in mind. This a faaahmly site.
Mail me if you need higher res.

Ahhh....how gay

Yes, here's more uber-gay product design from
the Bob Byrne line of tourist pap.

The Dubliner, The Arts Council and Blob Byrne (the pudgiest comic artist in Ireland)

There's a thing in the current issue of The Dubliner magazine about
the present wave of 'new creatives' emerging in this kip. Good piece
as it touches on the lack of monetary support from The Arts Council
several times and yes, I'm one of the little brats adding my whinge
to the whinge-pot.

Proper order though, it's about time we made the Arts Council squirm
and at the end of the article they issued a general statement regarding
funding shortfalls but (still) no direct addressing of my beef

And speaking of beef, of the roasted variety, man, a word of advice
to y'all: If you know you have a photo shoot on the 4th January, don't
spend your 2 weeks of xmas holidays sitting on your hole playing
Call of Duty with Guinness on a drip and eating the leftover turkey
and ham from 5 different households. And get a haircut.

But rest assured ladies I've turned that fat back into spite and will
now on insist on bringing my trademark energy dome for all future
pics.

I can also proudly announce that I'm still operating the
'fickle little wanker' approach to every Irish publication,
meaning that I diss and pour scorn on every magazine
or newspaper till they give me some coverage. Despite
having John Rocha on the cover, The Dubliner has some really
decent articles in it wedged between ads for Graham
Knuttel and feta cheese or whatever us trendy young
cosmopolitan dicks like these days.

Rocha the Hutt. Yeah, that's it John, distract them from MY big
fat head

The kindness of strangers

In this modern day of pushes and shoves and the Internerd
becoming just one big annoying pop-up, it warms the cockles
of my heart to bump into a decent person in this
crazy cyber-world.

A couple of weeks ago I bid on this cd set, 1966-77
Tokustasu songs and its Companion 1978-2003 set

I love these songs and have scraps of them here and
there and would love them all in a tidy edition. I was outbid 40 cents on the second set.
When the seller replied to my
email about shipping info I checked out her site and
was vewwy impressed, Kimberly is an accomplished
photographer/artist and it felt good to buying something
from a real person as opposed to the usual ebay transactions.

Last week the cd's came. With a special gift. A copy of the cd's from
the other auction I lost!! Man, I've been buying stuff off ebay
for years and this is the first time the seller gave me what
I lost out on. For free.

I've since checked out Ms. Merlo-Lindbergs
bloggy thing and she's done something I always dream about;
spending Xmas in Tokyo. There's also a fascinating
piece about Tokyo's homeless. Great pics.
I sent her some Shiznits in return for her kindness
and the whole experience is making me re-think
what Pierre Omiydar continually harps on about
when talking about a 'community atmosphere'
on eBay. Thanks Kimberly.

Roy Keane is a cruel gay

There's a teeny tiny pic of Roy Keane kissing a man in the
Shiznit issue 2 that was never posted. So here it is:

And here he is cruelly sitting on a puppy:

So there.
