Ancient Comics part one

I'm still in a perpetual state of packing and unpacking for the move and have found some gems. This was one of the many comics I done in the classroom from 1992 when I was 13. I was such an idiot, I used to draw them then give them away so there's only a few surviving.

I distinctly recall drawing this in Maths then finishing it in detention. I drew loads of stuff while being kept back unitl they introduced a new system where they would give you a phonebook and you'd have to transcribe it for 40 mins. Saying that though I wasn't a regular unlike some lads I hung around with. I enjoyed it sometimes as the combined sheer disruptive power of 20 elite troublemakers just brushed the inexperienced temp aside and wrecked the place. There was one heart warming incident when some crazy detainee much older than me threatened to kill the teacher when he took a half finished drawing off me, he returned it and I wrapped it up. Sometimes though the pacing teacher would just see that you're drawing a comic and snatch it and rip it up. Heart breaking stuff. A dick tried that with me in 5th year but quickly returned it when the whole class defended my right to draw in class. I still hated them all though.

This is Ninja vs Pooba. Two lame characters from my early teens.

Awwwww.........

Was at the Kings Of Concrete event on Saturday. What a day, a feast for the senses with banging beats, 2 well occupied halfpipes, hackey sack, break dancing and graffiti demonstrations nestled here and there. It was part of the Cultivate festival which is admirable but frankly crap, 'Buy my humus, only 12 Euro a jar' etc. But KOC rocked it. Any tourists who saw that will be spreading the word back home, money well spent by the local authorities by providing an entertaining event while actually doing some good and helpin yoof culture.

I was back and forth to it all day between meeting heads in town and around 4 pm I sat up on the steps slightly dwunk and watched the dance competition. In between the bouts there was this cute little kid that kept running around the dance mat excitedly, everyone was all 'Awwwww'. With my brutal eyesight it took me a while to realise that he was holding a Shiznit all the time. Tried getting a pic of him but I fucked it up and came home telling Hayley about how cute he was and how big the Shiz looked in his hands.

I got 2 mails yesterday from heads who picked up the Shiznit at the event but this one from Mr Davey Faherty made my day.

Subject: Shiznit damaging to children
This photo proves that children exposed to your comic end up dancing in public. Probably. Taken at the Kings of Concrete event, thought you might like it. Mbleh! was great, and I only just spotted The Shiznit recently, and thats pretty good too. Yours etc, The Arts Council

Altogether now, Awwwwwww. There were loads of cameras there so if there's anymore like this please send them on. (And a few upskirts wouldn't hurt too).
