Dopey old comic

Here’s a gem from 1997, horrible art but it’s a funny story. I only drew about 5 pages of it though. It’s based on real events in that I used to hang around with a bloke and we’d play Tekken 2 all day. For some reason this little 5 year old kid from a few doors down was always appearing in the room on his own and whipping me at the game.

I was meant to be the king of that fokkin game, there was even a Wexford vs Dublin Eight man tournament that was narrowly won by my button mashing skills. But this little prick kept beating me so we’d shout abuse at him and call him a rentboy etc. He became my enemy.

Speaking of games, I got PuyoPuyo on my phone and it’s great. One of the best games ever, here’s some Puyo Puyo Porn for everyone. Phwoar

The comic would have been more interesting with that info, particularly setting you up as the ‘tournament king’ initially.

Jesus yeah, that kid is grown up now. Okay he’s not. I Jamie Bulgered the little prick, I admit it. Yeah Conor we traveled down to Wexford for it, it’s still one of my greatest memories. A narrow win though. I think he was suffering from shock that somebody’s favourite character was Amour King. God I loved that game. I don’t play games anymore though, it’s like kicking heroin for me.

You’re some liar Bob, what about all those posts where you go on about Battlefield or Call of Duty? Or do they not count as games so much as “historical re-enactment”?

bob really doesn’t play games - he now does something productive.

Haven’t played Call of Duty in 3 months. If I didn’t have to draw comics from 7pm-12pm each night I would more than like to play them. I play PuyoPuyo everday though

D’you have much of a commute to work, Bob? If you do, you could get a GP2x and stick Mame on it, emulate all your old classics on there. I don’t have much of a commute but my GP2x goes with me anyway - nothing like a bit of Metal Slug to pass the time on a train trip. (You can probably stick Mame on a hacked GBA or PSP, but it’s a bit more straightforward on the GP2x cos you don’t have to dick around with new firmwares, etc)
