No eagle award but you and Declan were voted cutest couple in comics [granted by us drunks in the pub but it still counts]

  2. Kyle Says:

Hah! I just remembered trying to convince Shalvey to reinvent himself as Duncan Chavez, the South American freedom-fighter cartoonist. Maybe that way they’d get his name right.

(Funnily enough there seem to have been several unorthodox contenders for cutest couple in comics on saturday night but I’m saying nowt…)

  3. luke Says:

    who did win it?
and it`s good to see you and dec`s passionate love being recognised with an award.

  4. Conor Says:

You didn’t win? Who said you didn’t win? Don’t let no high ranking authority tell you who did and didn’t win. Winning’s in the mind. In my mind you’re a winner and a total ride.

Read this post in the mirror and you’ll find the DaVinchi code.

  5. Rob Says:

Fuck the eagle awards! You won the Rob convinced someone to read MBLEH! award!
I also want “squirrel time!” on a T-Shirt.
That would be a dream come true

  6. Paul Says:

Does this mean you’ll be making more Clam Land comics with Herby and Co.? Those were the best in MBLEH

  7. uiscebot Says:

ah hard luck man - but fuck it. Can’t be super succesful all the time right? Your still a fucking Ledge roish!

  8. Bob Byrne Says:

Alan Davis won it, fair play to him, he actually has talent! Neh, it genuinely was a kick to be at the awards though. The roar form the Irish and Scottish crew was incredible.

Duncan Chavez….it’s a sexier name than Declan Shalvey innit?

Cheers Rob, may do new shirts this year through one of the cafepress kind of things.

There may very well be a Clam Land Webcomic soon, I’m itching to do lots of crappy dick and fart jokes after nearly five years of Amperduke silence

  9. Kyle Says:

Bob, let’s have none of this magnanimous bullshit, ok? You clearly deserved it, therefore I’m starting the rumour that Alan Davis only “won” because he was bumming that big beardy bloke who was organising everything. (Can’t remember if he was actually beardy but he is now).

A clamland webcomic would be the fucking business man, I’ve often thought that if anything irish webcomics don’t have enough knob gags in them.

  10. luke Says:

    bring on the cheap euphimisims!

  11. Rob Says:

    Finally more Clamland!
My only problem with issue 3 of MBLEH! is the fact there’s only a one page story of it in it

  12. Bob Byrne Says:

Yeah I want to get into webcomics, Frank is working on the best way to do it.
I have lots of ideas of what I want to do, I can bang pages out now and it’ll cut all the self publishing crap out. Definitely more Uncle Spunk Nugget and Clam Land

  13. uiscebot Says:

bob - the IFB are giving out grants for inventive animation films. Why dont you call youself the writer/director, find a producer and bang something together?

  14. Rob Says:

I’d love to see Mr Amperduke turned into a full animated movie.
It could be put to an orchestral score and it would be amazing

  15. Matt Vinyl Says:

Bob, I still haven’t gotten around to reading Mr Amp. I’m a useless cunt.

  16. Kyle Says:

See Bob? I told you the other day that there’d be a market for an animated version of Mr Amperduke, and you thought I was just joking…(well, ok, at the time I was but that’s not the point)

  17. Bob Byrne Says:

Well Cartoon Saloon were interested in doing a short of the original six page story but they had to drop it. The first story would definitely work.

Matt you are barred until you read that bad boy. Order it quick while I still have good panels.
