Enlighten Brick creepy fake Lego
I can’t believe my luck. On a Sunday yawn-fest shopping excursion, me and H went to this crappy market and I found this knock-off Lego playset. I instantly knew it had to be from that batch of super real stuff that had been found and incinerated.
I have been looking for all kinds of fake Lego since starting my Lego Graphic Novel
Enlighten Brick’s the name and they get top marks for production values, sheer gaul and for making a wierd, unsettling toy. Just look at it!
There’s just too much to take in, the dull military green, the red stars emblazoned on all the uniforms and vehicles, the HUGE electronic surveillance equipment, the toxic barrells, the fighter jets in the background, the strangling device in the commander’s hand and my favourite bit: the guns. The set comes with 2 automatic rifles and 2 handguns.
It’s just crazy. The manufacturers obviously weren’t trying to be creepy ( the hallmark of all good fake toys) so maybe this would sit right in China. Lego with guns. The overall quality of the packaging and individual parts are amazing, and the dope on the stall sold it to me for 8 Euro! He was a Chinese lad about the same age as me and when I went back to buy another one he said ‘No, No, you get good deal on other, This 25 Euro, you got good deal’ I looked at the others and they were 25 quid alright, his boss looking on unimpressed.
But nothing compares to this for knock off Lego, Mr. Amperduke.
UPDATE: Here’s more that I found

That jeep looks great. And the idea of guns is very cool, too.

Found your info. I’ve got a ton of those Enlighten Brick products, and I love them. You should see the Stealth Fighter and Panzar Tank I got.

some times when you want an old lego set say lego PARADISA set 6404 carrige ride and the westerners covered waggon that have been redundant to lego about a decade ago. Enlighten has stood in that gap and made it possible to acquire such sets but they need to stick to the correct colours of the old sets.

i think that they should take over lego

They copied lego, so why are they cool?
they sell these stuff ten times cheaper because they could be smashed easily.

Oh, and one more comment, lego already did something about the copying.
So we don’t want their ****.

I have 3 sets of old acent army set and I love them very much. It’s value for money, the quality is already on par with lego and more character that Enlighten brick can offer comparing with Lego(expensive, lesser characters). Enlighten bricks is indeed enlighten many potential people to shift to “Enlighten product” and enlighten many people. If Lego wants to survive in this competitive toy market, lego should reduce price and provide more value to the customers so that the loyalty for lego products would be able to sustain.

I can see why they’re sold cheaper then the Lego sets. The quality of the plastic & mouldings are nowhere near as good as Lego. On the other hand, I love the fact that this is a “chinese version” of Lego! Gotta love all those BIG red stars and the officer on horse-back!
I’ve found these sets good for the kids to give a good bashing too, I save the good stuff (ie Lego Star Wars) for ME!!! Again, you get what you pay for.
The only thing I didn’t like about these sets was the blatant reconstruction of the box art, down to the last detail!! Check out some of the sets online on Ebay, then compare with the equivalent Lego sets, and you’ll see what I mean!! G’Day, from Perth, Western Australia..

Its not called fake lego its called unique lego. Thats just like saying “is the number 7 odd or just differant?”

I’m just wondering. I read somewhere that these fake legos are noticeably lesser quality than the real legos. In what way? Is there an example? Like parts not going together or something?

Occasionally a single element might need tweaking, but in general Enlighten set elements are as good as or better than Lego elements. They’ve been cloning since 1963, and they’ve solved their quality control issues. Other Chinese brick companies include Sluban (good quality), Kazi (fair) Little White Dragon (good), Ligao (not so good) Coco-Blocko, (excellent, but using the old best lock sizing, not lego) and Mange toys.
