I drew Murdock and B.A. this week too

This was drawn in hospital waiting room a few weeks ago. I got the idea after wondering if there’s a term for the type of photo that is obviously taken at arms length. You can see the slight raise in the collarbone and shoulder. I’ve done it, everybody’s done it.

The other thing is wanking in space. I believe it’s been captured on film in some high budget porno, where they go up high in a special plane and you get a few seconds of weightlessness. I’ve always thought about it.

Another super fast, super sloppy gem. Originally when I thought of Spazzmoid the line up was going to be, Bwed, Uncle Spunk Nugget and my Dead Mother, no autobio stuff. Why I draw my Ma as a Go-Go Gopher is still a mystery to me

This was done in record time, something like 16 minutes for the Irish Comic Challenge ran by Kyle. The subject was ‘Farm hand wins money on eve of apocalypse’ or something. There’s always a weird energy to the pages you belt out without thinking

And that was that. My Ma freaked out of course. More at the thoughts of the Juvenile Liason officer having to come visit. I got around 2 days of abuse from her until I countered with my well brooded upon rebuke ” I only changed the price on a tape that was going to be reduced anyway”. And it deflated her and the matter was finished.

I finally got Documentary of the Dead around 3 months later in a different shop and sweet fuck it was awful

I drew a thing for Dec’s 28 Days later book this week. Now THAT’s a film worth getting nicked over.

I’ll finish up I wuzz nicked next week, I can’t find the sketchbook it’s in.

This was drawn in the dark. Yeah so I’m put into the cell thing and this fruitcake in a leather jacket is put in for stroking from Virgin too. He had the gall to use a vice grips to remove the security tags. Her gave a fake name and tried to make a run for it, even I wanted to kill him. 16 years old with a bank card, posh Dublin accent, he probably went on to join The Thrills. Them gicknahs.

The other lad was Ray, he was shitting a brick over his Da coming in to release him and when I saw his Da I was sorry for him. We lived out in Tallaght so after my Da got the call he had to catch a bus into town which takes around an hour. I just sat there and waited…Seeing the girl go in in her civvy clothes and then come back out in her garda uniform blew my mind. Nasty.

I’ll never forget the weird thrill of being in the police car driving to Pearse St with all the commuters looking at me. I had already begun to work on a plan to get out of this, if they gave me a phone call I could call an older friend and get them to pretend to be my Uncle or something but mostly I was in shock.

That little red haired security guard in his gay Hard Rock Cafe shirt, he was such a weaslely looking scrud who obviously didn’t make the grade to become a Garda. He officially barrred me forever but in fairness, in the 10 minutes it took for the copper to get there he told me that I seemed polite and civilised compared to the usual brats he got. Anyway, around 2 years later I was back in Virgin mooching around and I see him sidling up to me doing his thing. I sez to him ‘Excuse me, what time does do you close at?’ and he turned white and walked away. I’m such an outlaw.

This page was originally just meant to be the roughs for a polished comic but I drew the whole thing out like this in a new notebook. Probably the first non digital comic I’ve done in 2 years and definitely the first one drawn on my sofa.

So here it is. The story I wish had the gumption to draw at the time to get my Ma to shut the fuck up about the whole thing. It was my first time and generally a good experience for a kid. I was ‘taken in’ again when I was 16 but not charged after a big Rockers Vs Ravers mill up where I was barely involved. Booted some knacker in the head when he was the ground. Very manly of me. Won’t be drawing that one!
